Hi, I’m Rahul,
I was born in India, but I’ve lived in three different continents: Asia, Europe, and North America. That means I have a very unique and confusing accent that no one can place (only mock😂).
My family moved to the UK when I was 3 years old and lived there for 7 years. I enjoyed the sugar (candies) and chips, the double-decker buses, and the rainy weather. Okay, maybe not the last one.. I also learned how to spell words like colour, flavour, and honour with a “u”.
I moved back to India when I was 10 years old and rediscovered my roots. I loved the food, the festivals, and the cricket. I also learned how to speak Hindi, which is a beautiful and expressive language.
I always enjoyed building stuff, whether it was physical or digital. When I was a kid, I used to fix old bikes with my cousins and ride them around the neighborhood. We would compete with each other to see who could make the coolest or fastest bike. One time, we even tried to make a bike that could fly, but it ended up crashing into a tree. Luckily, no one was hurt, except for the bike.
I moved to Chicago for my masters and have been living here ever since. I love the city, the architecture, and the lake. I learned to appreciate deep dish pizza, summer, and the Cubs (joking I don’t care about Cubs, I love Bulls). Go Bulls!
I’m a self-professed photography enthusiast who loves to capture the beauty of the world through my lens. Sounds pretty cool, right? Well, not really. Because most of the time, I’m too lazy to go out and take pictures. I prefer to stay at home and binge-watch Youtube. But don’t worry, I’m not a hopeless case. Sometimes, I do get a push from my friends or family to go out and explore new places. And when I do, I always bring my camera with me.
My first love is sports. I remember playing all day in 110F degree heat with my friends in India. We played cricket, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and anything else we could find. We didn’t care about the score or the rules, we just had fun. I still love sports, but now I mostly watch them on TV or online.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me here. Have a great day! 😊
